Cinnamon Apple Waffles
“And in the morning, I’m making waffles!” - Donkey from Shrek. This is a simple recipe and the waffles are delicious!
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 cup of gluten free flour
½ teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of baking soda
½ teaspoon of baking powder
1 cup milk or non-dairy milk
½ cup (1 stick) of melted butter
Toppings of your choice (syrup, cinnamon apples, chocolate chips, etc.)
Steps:
Preheat waffle iron
Beat eggs
In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder (if making cinnamon apple waffles, add some cinnamon)
Add flour mixture and milk alternately to beaten eggs, starting and ending with the flour mixture
Add melted butter and combine thoroughly
Pour batter into waffle iron (do not overfill) and remove when cooked (if you like crispier waffles, keep it in the iron for longer)
Add toppings; for this recipe, I added diced apples covered in cinnamon sugar and heated them up
