Hey there!

I’m Debbie, a lawyer by day, marathon runner by early morning, who unfortunately suffers from a gluten allergy. Making gluten free food that is good can sometimes be a challenge, but I think I’ve done a pretty good job. I hope you find a recipe (or two!) that you enjoy from my blog!

Gluten Free Pretzel Rolls

Gluten Free Pretzel Rolls

These are great as a snack, dinner roll, or as a hamburger bun!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup of whole milk or non-dairy milk

  • 4 tablespoons of butter or margarine

  • 4 cups of gluten free flower

  • 2 ½ tablespoons of light brown sugar

  • 1 packet of active dry yeast

  • 2 large eggs and 1 egg yolk

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • ½ cup of baking soda

  • Coarse salt

Steps:

  • Combine milk and butter and heat up; set aside

  • Combine flour, brown sugar, and yeast and combine

  • Add milk and butter mixture, then the eggs to flour mixture and combine (best to do in a stand mixer)

  • Knead bread; divide into 12 equal pieces, roll each piece into a ball; place into a bowl, spray plastic wrap and warp plastic wrap (spray side down) around bowl; let rise for at least 45 minutes

  • Preheat oven to 425

  • Boil a large pot of water and add baking soda

  • Place balls in water and cook for 30 seconds on each side; remove with slotted spoon and place onto baking sheet; sprinkle pretzel salt immediately after removed and use a knife to cut an “X” shape on top of roll

  • Bake 12-15 minutes
